Meet Our Staff....
Mandy Volkmer-Busch, M.S., LMHP, BCBA (Therapist): A Licensed Mental Health Practitioner specializing in pediatric counseling, Mandy received her Master of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and completed additional studies in Applied Behavior Analysis through St. Cloud State University. Before starting in private practice, Mandy was employed by the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation at UNMC where she was a therapist in the Department of Pediatric Psychology. Since beginning her career in counseling, she has worked in primary care clinics; working along side physicians to provide comprehensive health care treatment to the children and families she serves.
Additionally, Mandy has a strong interest in the field of Child Maltreatment (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, and witnessing violence). She has completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral techniques, an empirically-supported treatment program to assist children and their non-offending parents during the process of healing. She is a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and is receiving continuing education in this field.
Shelly Benshoof, MA, LMHP (Therapist): Shelly is a licensed mental health practitioner who specializes in the assessment and treatment of child and adolescent behavioral disorders. Shelly received her Bachelors degree from Hastings College and her Master of Arts degree in School Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Shelly is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.
George Pflager, MS, LIMHP (Therapist): George Pflager, MA, LIMHP joined Behavioral Health Solutions in June 2009. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska in Omaha and his Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He became licensed in Nebraska as a Mental Health Practitioner in 1994. While he has provided treatment for a wide range of mental health problems. George specializes in treating symptoms of anxiety and panic, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, marital and family conflicts, and addictions including substance abuse. George is available to see clients in the Nebraska City office 3-4 days a week. _____________________________________________________________________________
Holly Roberts, Ph.D. (Supervising Psychologist): Dr. Holly Roberts is a licensed psychologist and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Munroe-Meyer Institute. Dr. Roberts received her Ed.S. in School Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and completed her doctoral work in School Psychology from Illinois State University. Dr. Roberts specializes in the field of Behavioral Pediatrics. As a faculty member at MMI, she participates in research regarding pediatric behavioral disorders and provides training and supervision to both students pursuing psychology careers and medical students completing pediatric rotations.
